RESEARCH NEEDS

Additional studies are necessary to document which species are in New York and to determine potential habitat hotspots for these organisms. A study of all three groups of slime molds in various habitat types is highly recommended to gain an adequate perspective of slime mold biodiversity in New York. Only then can a better understanding of biogeographical and distributional relationships be determined.
